Chapter 16

 

“Sure, I’ll meet you there about 7 0′clock” Sheila said, then hung up the phone. Brianna had called and wanted Sheila to meet her after work for dinner and a night on the town. Brianna had been worrried about Sheila. Since graduating from University it seemed that all she did was to mope around the house. Brianna didn’t think Sheila had gotten over the heartbreak of not only losing her first love Brian….but of losing him to someone she had thought of as a friend. Admittedly Olivia and Sheila had not been close friends…but Olivia  had known that Sheila and Brian were dating and had continued to relentlessly pursue Brian nonetheless. That just wasn’t right!

 

Chapter 15

As the new year began, Anna received a call from her father from abroad. Her mother had taken ill and had quickly succumbed…leaving Samuel alone in a far-away country. Samuel arranged for Victoria’s body to be flown back to May Valley. They had given her an elaborate funeral and laid her to rest at the Lost Soul’s Cemetery. Samuel did not handle the death of his wife…his companion for over 50 years…very well. Not surprisingly, he too died within 6 months of Victoria’s death. 

 

Chapter 14

Kevin’s birthday came and he quietly transformed to an elder. He didn’t want a big fuss made about it…so there was only the family present to watch his transformation.

 

Chapter 13

Brianna sat, trying to enjoy a quiet game of chess when suddenly one of the guys at her dorm decided to run by where she sat…completely naked! Brianna could hear the cheers of some of the other students, which only served to encourage the guy on. She just tried to ignore him, and continued on with her game.  “What a loser,” she thought. Brianna had started attending university as soon as she graduated from high school. She and her good friends Tosha Go and Sheila Reynolds had left on the same day…as did Logan Ku. These last three years had flown by.

 

Chapter 12

It was a beautiful fall day. Brandi and Kevin had invited Anna, Robi and the family over for the day. Sheila had specifically asked her dad to grill hamburgers, which was her favorite food.  “We couldn’t have asked for a nicer day, could we?” Brandi said to Anna.   “You said it. Fall is my favorite time of  year!” Anna said.  “So, how have you been feeling?” Anna asked.  “Need you ask! This baby better get here…and soon! I’m already a week overdue!” Brandi was definately ready for her baby to be born.

 

Chapter 11

Brianna watched from the window as Archie, her biological father, and her brother Logan approached the house. Archie’s live-in girlfriend Celeste, and their daughter Chelsea weren’t far behind. Brianna had talked with her mother about her desire to get to know Archie, and her half-brother and half-sister better. Anna agreed to do what she could to bring all of them closer. She had invited them all to dinner in hopes of giving them the opportunity they needed to get to know each other better.

 

Chapter 10

Brianna had her birthday, becoming a teenager. She was a beautiful young woman. But…Brianna wanted to change her looks a bit…she wanted to look more grown up.

 

Chapter 9

Brandi got ready for her date with Kevin. She felt nervous…did she look all right? Her friend Anna had told her she should wear her hair down because it made her look prettier…gave her face a softer look. Brandi had always just pulled it back in a ponytail to get it out of the way. But tonight Brandi wanted to look pretty for Kevin.

 

Chapter 8

Anna sat on the front porch of her friend Kevin Reynolds’ home. It was a beautiful day out and Anna had taken a walk. She saw Kevin sitting on his porch and asked if she could join him. Anna had met Kevin months ago at a PTA meeting. He really stuck out because he was the only father who had attended. Anna later found out that Kevin’s wife had died, leaving him with their little girl Sheila. Sheila was in the same class as Anna’s daughter Brianna.

Kevin had lived in this same house his entire life. His father had been a farmer, and his grandfather as well. Kevin had been raised  farming, and he didn’t know anything else. He lived a simple life…and he wouldn’t trade it for anything. Yes…Kevin’s life was nearly perfect. The only thing missing was a wife for him…and a mother for his daughter Sheila.

 

Chapter 7

Anna and Robi continued to talk about starting their own business. In the meantime, Anna decided to go back to work leaving Robi home to take care of the children. Brianna was in school most of the day, so Robi could concentrate on Brooke and Brent. The nanny still came to help out because…well…there were two of them…need I say more?
